In this image, I have selected a point on the INSIDE of the Mandelbrot Set to see what is happening to these points. So I selected a point (in red) and watched the trajectory of that point (again as I iterate it through the function z = z2 + c).

What I found is that these points, instead of radiating away as we just saw with the OUTSIDE points, are spiraling IN toward a certain point or region within the black part of the M-Set.

This is why these points never reach escape velocity, because they are spiraling and/or “contracting” into the M-Set. This “contraction” dynamic could easily be construed as “gravity” since gravity is a force that causes contraction rather than expansion or radiation.

Is there any other evidence for gravity in the Mandelbrot Set?
